ALI

Ali Speechly, a South Londoner with roots in India and Italy, has nearly nine years' experience coaching football from grassroots and community to academies such as Spurs and Chelsea. She is currently taking a break from coaching but is still involved in the game in many ways, including various board roles.

Why did you want to record WGTB?
"While there are already lots of brilliant female-led podcasts about football and the professional game, I wanted to hear women talking about the reality of their coaching experiences - good and bad. So I thought, well why don't I do it?!"

What are you most excited about with WGTB?
"Having a laugh and a heart-to-heart with my co-host each week as we discuss all aspects of coaching, and also creating a community where other coaches - female and male - feel safe to share their experiences on the training pitch."

What do you hope listeners get from WGTB?
"I want everyone to enjoy the discussions, to be part of our community of coaches, and to learn how to be even better than they already are."

STEPH

Steph Fairbairn, a Geordie who moved to London in 2010, has been coaching for four years and has worked in grassroots, schools, and on community projects, with players from the age of 4 to 18. She is Head Coach at Dalmain Athletic Girls FC, where she manages the u15s league team and a Coach at Girls United.

Why did you want to record WGTB?
"To talk about coaching as a woman in real terms - the ups, the downs, and everything in-between."

What are you most excited about with WGTB?
"I get to chat with my friend about football every week, and hopefully connect with other female coaches and hear their stories."

What do you hope listeners get from WGTB?
"Ideas. Space for reflection. Community. Confidence. The knowledge that they're doing great things!"
